ever think that maybe god's a She not a He?

we're all so used to the concept that god is a man, but what if he isn't? or should i say, what if she isn't?

it's not that i take issue with the long held belief that god is male, even though there's none of us who can truthfully say we've seen the anatomic proof, but there seems to be so many more potential reasons why god is a woman.

every once in awhile, something goes wrong. not just wrong, but horribly wrong. how often do we hear the phrase 'god hates me'? probably a few times. but do men really hate? for most of them, give them a beer and a pizza, and it's all good. no one can hold a grudge like a woman, let's be honest. i'm a woman, i know this.

would a man really make it so much easier to get pregnant than to *not* get pregnant? heck no! if god was a man, then birth control would not be necessary. that's a female thing. a 'you better not do this or else' deal. if god was a man, women would need to take pills in order to *get* pregnant, not to prevent a pregnancy.

would a man really create a week of the month where women are cranky, bloated, PMS-y and don't want to have sex? nuh-uh. that is counter-productive for the male, because that's a week of the month that he has to put up with a woman who may be ready to kill him at any given moment.

would a man really make it so men are so turned on by spiked heels and lingerie? no! both additives are annoying. heels hurt the feet and can easily injure the legs. lingerie is just plain uncomfortable. these two creations are obviously the by-product of a woman -- no man would be so vindictive as to do that to his own species.

now, is that empirical proof that god is a woman? no. but until we see the evidence with our own eyes, it seems to be a very good assumption.

high school reunion time

got an invite today to my high school reunion

i haven't decided whether to go or not yet ... aw, hell, let's be honest, i'd rather be drug naked over a field full of the world's most prickly cacti than set foot at my high school reunion

remember those people in high school who lived to torment other people? the ones who were crude, rude, brash, and just plain tacky? the ones that we all watch on those crap-ass coming of age dramas going 'yeah, there's a serial killer in the making'? that's who's running the dang thing

i hated high school, i admit it ... i grew up in redneck-ville ... nothing against rednecks, i actually quite like 'em, and i still think a guy in a cowboy hat is to die for, but the privileged persons in our school were always the snobbiest of the snobby ... the crap they liked to pull on those they deemed unworthy was unbelievable

i wasn't a jock, and i knew how to read ... so i was a target ... luckily for me i was also a bitch ... by the time i graduated, i think they were scared of me ... i'm okay with that, it got them to back off ... and every school has their two major bullies ... we'll call mine clyde and bonnie ... and bonnie, of course, is organizing the reunion ... would you go to a class reunion run by the anti-christ? no, i didn't think so

all this reunion is going to be is an excuse for the haves to rag on the have nots ... i keep hoping the people i went to high school with grew up, but i've been paying attention over the years, and keeping up on the news ... they haven't ... and do i really want to take my piddly vacation days to go up there? i think not ...

i may, i admit it ... like all humanity in general i'm curious ... but at the same time, i now have the choice as to whether or not i want to associate with these people ... i'm thinking that's a no, i gotta say

but i'm not gonna make up my mind yet ... who knows, maybe all the jerks have changed ... and maybe pigs are flying ... who knows

the sad thing? the only people i have any interest in actually seeing are the people who were *not* in my grad class ... and they ran screaming from that town as soon as they could ... maybe i could check out some old teachers and find out if they're still torturing students?

i haven't been back there since two years after graduation ... or was it one? ... i was kind of hoping i'd never have to go there again in my life

i'm hungry. well, tired and hungry, but mostly hungry. a word to the wise? never get sick. it seriously limits your food choices.

we're gonna try to do better on this thing in the new year

then again, i made that promise before, didn't i?

today was movie day -- watched cry_wolf and dark water. both were good, both had nice twists. i think i prefered the former, but they were both worth watching. i've also got the exorcism of emily rose. not really my type of flick ... i'm not into exorcism films ... but everyone at work says it's so great. fine, whatever, we'll give it a shot. but if i don't like it ... eh, who am i kidding. if i don't like it, it's not like i'm gonna get my money back.

i'm no good at this, am i?

at blogging, i mean. i've got the blog, i create the blog ... i ignore the blog.

seriously, though, it's been busy lately. i work from 8 AM until 6 PM on a good day. on a bad day, i never get to leave.

late again, isn't it? haven't been around lately, work, of course -- about a week, really.

haven't had much to say lately. apparently everyone was so shocked to find out who deep throat was. it's almost disappointing in a way, because now there's no more mystery there. wondering who deep throat was ranked right up there with wondering where jimmy hoffa ended up.

on the news front though, way to go canada. a canadian gal won miss universe. i'm don't normally pay attention to the miss whatever contests, but it's kind of nice to see a canadian gal walk away with the gold.

of course, i'm still busy chuckling over the article i read on rod stewart's impending bundle of joy with penny lancaster. in one line, they say rod stewart has six children ... then they proceed to name five, with mother's and ages. at some point, someone can't count.

it's time to bid the world adieu though, at least for the evening. time to take care of the laundry.

it certainly is late, isn't it?

http://www.joegrossberg.com/archives/002098.html

it's called 'win a date with brad rutter'. my sympathies for the poor guy, actually, because how will he ever know if someone he meets that way is really interested in brad, and not 'brad the millionaire'? pity, really -- he certainly seemed like a nice guy, and i hope he doesn't get stuck with some sort of haute couture fashionista. not saying the potential applicants are, but hey, we know it's possible.

had an interesting experience tonight, reading over posts on a messageboard i visit from time to time. apparently one of the posters is passing themselves off as someone who they aren't. scary thing is, it's not that uncommon, and it's not the first time i've personally seen it happen. only this case was particularly disturbing. the allegations being made against the poster were incredibly disturbing, including and not limited to pedophilia and other unhappy events. the kicker? how do you know who to believe? as much as i want to believe the person making the posts, it's hard when there's so much staring you in the face.

years ago, i was on a mailing list with a woman who told a lot of people many, many personal things about her life, things that turned out to be false. to be honest, i never believed her. why? because it seemed sometimes like she was bragging about it. but then, i'm a bit of a cynic, and i'm also a privacy buff -- i don't believe in sharing my business with the world. (this blogging thing isn't the same, because there are a lot of things that are private.) her deception destroyed the list, because no one ever felt comfortable talking again. it went from a very active list to absolutely nothing.

a lot of people think there's nothing wrong with impersonation or lies online. many people have done it, whether it be a major thing or a minor thing. something as simple as lying about a boyfriend, or a celebrity autograph. i don't bother with lying about who or what i am -- if i don't want ya'll to know something, i won't tell you. i can't see the point in lying about who we are when we're online. is it that important to someone that i claim to know something or someone i don't? i could go online claiming to be angelina jolie's cousin, but why? i'm not, and it's not going to change my life overly much if i pretend. and sooner or later, someone'll catch me in it and i'll end up looking like a total knob.

so i am what i am -- a northern girl born and bred who would rather spend my night dancing in the snow than dancing at the clubs. i'd like to say i'm a nice pigeon-toed anarchist, but let's be honest, i'm not even that interesting. that, and i'm not. (a pigeon-toed anarchist, i mean.) i read, i write, i work ... you know, all that boring stuff we do to get ourselves through the day. i can't watch 'wheel of fortune' because i scream at the tv (picture a person screaming 'it's *the world according to garp* you idiot!), i love to watch 'jeopardy' because i can usually clean up in the privacy of my home (except for some of these 'tournament of champions' questions), and i enjoy playing 'jeopardy' on my home computer (although i usually quit when i find myself starting to cheat). i had a personal life at one point, but i seem to have devoted myself to my job years ago and lost the will to party.

but hey, i'm old. i'm still on the sunny side of thirty, but i'm getting old. another year or two and i won't be able to say i'm in my mid-twenties anymore. and think of all the things left undone! i always wanted to travel the world, but except for western europe, i haven't seen much. i can answer the phone in english, french, and spanish, but that's about it. and believe it or not, i can speak correct english and use proper grammar, but it didn't seem appropriate for a blog.

and that's all ya'll will ever learn about me.
